Battery powered cameras due to the limited computing power often don’t compress the recorded videos and create rather large recorded files. Manipulations with these video files might be very time and storage-space consuming. So multifile upload to the GoodVision platform could take a few hours or even days depending on the data size and internet connection speed. But we have a solution for you! Compress and optimize your videos directly in GoodVision Video Insights Desktop Application to reduce the size without losing the original quality.

Step 1 - Enable optimization in the settings

Make sure you have the latest version of the desktop application. Login to the application, open Settings and navigate to Application Settings. You should see the Video Optimization section. If it is not there, update the application (download here). Enable the optimization as shown on the picture below.

If you are using the optimization feature for the first time, you will be requested to download the Handbrake library that takes care about the optimization. HandBrake is a tool for converting video from nearly any format to a selection of modern, widely supported codecs - now integrated directly into GoodVision Video Insights. All you need to do is to press the Download button.

Step 2 - Enjoy faster uploading

All set up. Now every uploaded file will be optimized. If you like to stop using the upload optimization feature, you can turn it off anytime.
