The 85th percentile is a critical metric in traffic analysis, representing the speed below which 85% of vehicles travel on a particular road segment. It's a key indicator used for setting speed limits and improving road safety.

At GoodVision, we've introduced the 85th Percentile Widget to help traffic engineers and planners quickly and accurately calculate this important value from their traffic data. The widget simplifies the process by automatically analyzing the data and presenting the 85th percentile speed, which can then be used for informed decision-making.

How to Use the 85th Percentile Widget

To get the most accurate results from the widget, it's crucial to ensure the right distance between the measurement lines in the data capture. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Set Accurate Line Distances: Before running the widget, double-check that the distances between the lines in your GoodVision project are correctly configured. This ensures that the speed calculations are precise and reliable.
